Vacancy announcement for an intern in sales management/marketing
Location: Wageningen, The Netherlands
Education : Training in business studies/marketing
As part of CTA’s efforts to improve its efficiency, the Centre’s Strategic Plan 2007 – 2010 (SP) aims to increase outreach through a fairer and more commercial approach (market analysis of demand and existing supply, distribution/targeting methods, pricing policy). CTA wants to move from a purely non-profit (and academic) to a more commercially dynamic approach. Since 2007, CTA has been actively working on integrating marketing as a strategic tool to determine both the development and implementation of its various activities, aiming at improving access to information on agriculture in order to improve rural livelihoods in ACP countries.
For the purpose of this internship, CTA is looking for bilingual candidates fluent in English and French (Portuguese would be an asset) with excellent communication skills, who have an inquiring mind, are committed, well organised, flexible and have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and databases).
Tasks
1. In collaboration with the Junior Expert in Marketing, complete the database of CTA activities in ACP countries.
2. In collaboration with the Publications Distribution Service (PDS), organise the follow-up of book orders (checking claims, liaising with subscribers and integrating information into the PDS database).
3. On the basis of the information and criteria provided by CTA, prepare a list of potential beneficiaries for CTA products and services in each ACP country.
